Inside the ideas, process and creative practice of a one-person studio that builds its own tools first and takes the brief second.

008Hero slot — full-bleed portrait or loop

Kaveh builds the thing that makes the thing. Every project starts with a week of writing software nobody asked for, and ends with work that no one else could have produced on that budget.

Kaveh's instinct was always to refuse the default stack. Before generative tools, that meant writing little utilities nobody billed for. Now it means spending the first week of a job building the instrument — then running the brief through something only he has.

What surprised him wasn't speed. It was taste. Once generation got cheap, the expensive part moved upstream — choosing constraints, killing options, deciding what "wrong" looks like on purpose. He describes the shift as going from scarce making to scarce judgment.

He still codes. He still art-directs. The part he gave away was waiting for permission to start — and he does not miss it.

Four wrong answers before lunch beats one borrowed right answer at midnight.

Club take

Kaveh builds the thing that makes the thing. A week of tooling before the brief is not delay — it is how he refuses the accent of everyone else's defaults. The Club does not read 008 as a tools essay. It is about owning the wrong answers early enough that the right one still sounds like him.

The same five

01 · Who do you watch?

A handful of toolmakers who treat interface as craft, and two CDs who never post their prompts. I watch people who hide their process less than people who perform it.

02 · What is the hand part now?

Naming things. Killing work. Sitting with a wrong answer long enough to know why it's wrong. The hand part might shrink; the judgment part won't.

03 · What did you get wrong about AI?

I thought I'd lose patience. The opposite. Making got cheap, so thinking got expensive again — and that's the part I actually like.

04 · How do clients react?

They stop asking what it will look like, because they've already seen it. So you argue about whether it's the right idea. That's a better week-one conversation.

05 · Advice?

Build the pipeline before the brief so the answer does not sound like everyone else.
