In the 1990s, Hal Curtis and Chuck McBride wrote a mountain daredevil escalation that ends with a snowcat and a dog. It was treated as unproduceable and sat on a shelf for roughly three decades. OneDay directors Bouha Kazmi and Samir Mallal revived it for Luma's Dream Brief as "Adrenaline Junkies", an 85-shot film that became a contest finalist and a Cannes Lions submission.
Before generating, the team spent weeks with the original writers reconstructing tone and energy, then developed characters, backstories and visual language on paper. Licensed, paid actors supplied likenesses; a full post roster finished edit, VFX, colour, music, foley and mix. Mike Staniforth's 16 September read puts the producer lesson cleanly: the greenlight question moves from "can we shoot this?" to "can we control, clear and finish it?"
